Calida Rawles presents new paintings built around three works drawn from photographs of her youngest daughter in a pool, taken within seconds of each other as the artist moved through the water. Each shift in angle and distance produces a distinct composition. Known for pairing hyperrealism with abstraction, Rawles uses water to explore perception, memory and belonging. The show runs October 15 to November 14 at Lehmann Maupin in Chelsea.
