New York design studio APPARATUS unveiled Act V of its ongoing exhibition series, AFSANEH, on October 5. The presentation is live on the studio's website, apparatusstudio.com, and in person at its space at 124 West 30th Street in Chelsea.
AFSANEH gathers several series, among them ESFAND, GOL and RAHVI. The themes running through the chapter are protection, flowers and storytelling, so the individual collections read as parts of one larger narrative rather than separate launches. The title itself points that way: afsaneh is the Persian word for a legend or tale.
APPARATUS has organized its shows as numbered acts, and this is the fifth. Because the work is also presented online, readers who can't get to Manhattan can still see it through the studio's site. For those who can, the West 30th Street address sits a short walk from Penn Station and Hudson Yards, which makes it an easy addition to a day of Chelsea gallery visits.
The studio announced the opening on Instagram the day before, under the handle @apparatusstudio, and continues to share the series there.
