The Brooklyn Heights Association's biennial Designer Showhouse is open now through November 1, this year inside 1 Monroe Place, a landmarked Greek Revival mansion in the heart of the neighborhood. The house has just come through a multi-year restoration. It covers 9,525 square feet and has a Mansard roof, nine bedrooms, seven baths and a rooftop terrace.

Nineteen design firms, a mix of interior and landscape designers from New York, have taken on six floors. The lineup pairs established names with rising talent, so rooms range from classic bespoke interiors to thoroughly modern ones. For anyone who likes walking through a historic house to see how different designers read the same architecture, it is a rare chance to get inside.

The house is open Thursday and Friday from 11am to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. It is closed Monday through Wednesday. Tickets are $50, or $40 for BHA members, and are good for one entry at any point during the run. There is no re-entry, and all sales are final.

Food and drink, smoking and vaping, backpacks and large bags, and non-service animals are not allowed. Guests must be 10 or older, though infants in front carriers are welcome. Proceeds support the BHA's work building community, advocating for the neighborhood and preserving its architectural legacy. Volunteers can write to volunteer@thebha.org.
