Italian painter Jem Perucchini, born in Ethiopia in 1995, has his first US exhibition at David Zwirner's Tribeca space, following solo shows in Turin and Seville. His new paintings blend early Renaissance art, African wax-print patterns, Greek myth and Ethiopian church frescoes. Slender figures appear in jewel-toned scenes lit by a glowing sun or moon, evoking solitude, companionship and the contrast of light and dark.
