HONK NYC!, the festival of street brass and percussion bands, reaches its 20th year in 2026. It runs October 15 to 18 across indoor and outdoor venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, and most events are free.

The festival opens on Thursday, October 15, with an evening at Fifth Hammer Brewing Company from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. On October 16, "From Beats to Bop" features Stefan Zeniuk's Ghost Band from 6 to 9 PM. Saturday, October 17, brings "HONK! For Democracy" from 2 to 4 PM, followed by a Community Potluck from 6:30 to 10 PM.

Sunday, October 18, is the fullest day. Brass Brunch at Branded runs from noon to 2 PM, and "HONK! The Open Streets" fills the afternoon from noon to 5 PM. The weekend closes with "HONK! At the Loove" from 7 to 10 PM.

Each event has its own page with venue details at honknyc.com/events. For anyone who likes live brass played at street level, with beer, brunch or a car-free block as the backdrop, it is an easy and mostly free way to spend a fall weekend in the city.
