Margot Bergman: On the other hand

Margot Bergman's fifth New York solo show pairs paintings from 2012–2014, never previously shown in the city, with large portraits of imagined women made between 2015 and 2019. The earlier works mark her move from altering thrift-store paintings to working on blank canvas, with forms drifting between plants, animals and figures. The portraits that follow are loose and unfinished by design. On view through October 31.
