Marcus Jahmal's third solo show at Anton Kern Gallery brings together new paintings and a floor installation about piracy. His elongated, contorted figures wear peg legs, hooks and bandanas, drawing on pirate imagery from film and fiction while pointing to the colonial trade and slavery behind the legend. Piles of Swarovski crystals on the floor echo the title's double meaning of plunder and bodily desire. On view through October 31.
