Rosette Wine Bar has opened at 518 Hudson Street in the West Village. Its website describes it as a neighborhood wine bar in the heart of the West Village, with wines chosen for small family production, terroir and provenance.

The restaurant is part of the Rosenthal family. It pairs what it calls a prolific wine program with a locally sourced, seasonal French menu. The site says the wine list is coming soon, while the food menu is posted as a PDF.

The official photos give a sense of the cooking and the room. One table shot shows oysters, a waffle topped with caviar, thick slices of bread, and glasses of red and white wine. Another shows croquettes topped with thinly sliced cured meat and black pepper. Inside, the dining room has curved banquettes, dark stone-patterned tables, tall mirrors, candles and soft wall lighting. The street window is hung with green velvet curtains and lettered in gold.

Rosette serves dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 10 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 pm. Reservations are taken through Resy. You can also call +1 646-649-5271 or email info@rosettewinebar.com. The bar's Instagram handle is @rosettewinebar.

For readers who like to wander the West Village in the evening, it adds another place built around wine, with French seasonal food to go with it.
