Ice Skating Returns Oct. 31 at LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, Brooklyn NYC

Public ice skating returns to the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Brooklyn's Prospect Park on October 31, 2026. The center describes itself as Brooklyn's premier skating destination for more than a decade, with a dual-rink setup in the park.

There are two rinks: a Covered Rink and an Open Air Rink. The open-air rink opens November 15. Public sessions are open to skaters of all ages, who circle the ice to current pop music, whether they come with friends, family or alone. When both rinks are running public sessions, a bridge connects them.

Daytime hours for the Open Air Rink are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The Covered Rink runs noon to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on weekends, and noon to 5:15 p.m. on Friday. In the evening, the Open Air Rink is open Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. The Covered Rink runs Friday 6:30 to 8:50 p.m. and Saturday 8 to 9:50 p.m. You can walk up or reserve online; registration opened October 26.

Daytime general admission Tuesday through Friday is $10 cash or $10.30 by card. Seniors 65 and over pay $8 cash ($8.24 card) Monday through Friday. Monday general admission is $5 cash ($5.15 card), except December 28 and January 18, 2027. Evenings starting at 6 p.m., weekends and holidays are $15 cash ($15.45 card). Holiday pricing applies on November 11, November 26–29, December 24 through January 1, and January 18. Skate rental is $10 cash or $10.29 by card.

A few rules apply. Skaters must be 14 or older to buy admission and rental skates, while those 13 and under need a parent or guardian aged 18 or older supervising. Socks are required with rental skates. On the ice, phones, cameras, bags and photography are not allowed, and tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
