"Dreams of This Future: The Collection of Peggy Cooper Cafritz" is on view at the Studio Museum in Harlem through February 28, 2027. The exhibition presents works bequeathed to the museum by the arts patron Peggy Cooper Cafritz.

The holdings include more than 400 objects she gave the museum in 2018. Kerry James Marshall and Simone Leigh are among the artists featured, making the show a look at both the museum's focus on artists of African descent and the reach of one collector's eye.

The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm, with Friday hours extending to 9pm. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. For a after-work visit, Friday is the easiest night to go.

Admission is pay-what-you-can, with suggested prices: $16 for adults, $9 for seniors 65 and over, students and visitors with disability, and free for children 16 and under. Every Sunday, Studio Sundays brings free admission and family-centered programming. Tickets can be booked online in advance or bought at the museum.

The museum is at 144 West 125th Street in the new building. Coat check on the Lower Level is free. It pairs easily with a walk through Harlem.
