Hannah Levy: Boiled at Casey Kaplan
Casey Kaplan

Casey Kaplan in Chelsea will open Boiled, a solo exhibition by Hannah Levy, on November 5, 2026. The show continues through January 9, 2027, at the gallery's address at 121 West 27th Street.

Levy is a New York-based sculptor who shows with Casey Kaplan. Her work is built from hard, cool materials such as metal and glass, and it often takes forms that recall furniture, household objects or the human body. The result is sculpture that looks familiar at first and then becomes slightly uneasy, which is a useful way to approach her practice.

The title, Boiled, suggests heat, transformation and the softening of matter. Details of the full installation have not been published, and the one work announced is an untitled piece from 2026.

That sculpture is made of stainless steel and glass and measures 48 by 34 by 15 inches (121.9 by 86.4 by 38.1 centimeters). At that size it sits at roughly the scale of a body, between waist and chest height for an adult. The pairing of reflective, rigid steel with transparent glass sets up a contrast of surface and weight that is central to how the piece reads.

Because the run crosses into the new year, the exhibition is easy to fit into a winter gallery walk through Chelsea. The gallery can be reached at 212-645-7335 or info@caseykaplangallery.com.
