Actor and comedian Connor Ratliff brings the October edition of his monthly improv show, Connor Ratliff Presents: The Acting Class, to UCB East Village on Thursday, October 29, at 8:30pm. This month's installment is billed as the Halloween Horror Edition.

The show is fully improvised and staged as an acting workshop, with a guest performer joining each time. For this round, Ratliff says he will teach a masterclass in the art and craft of acting in the horror genre. His pitch to the audience is that both actors and non-actors are welcome, and that there is nothing to fear because "it's just a show."

Ratliff's own announcement lists his credits: the Emmy-winning horror comedy Widow's Bay, Ghosts and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He also mentions playing Steve, Dracula's neighbor, in a KitKat commercial currently on the air. He plays Deputy Kent on Widow's Bay and created the award-winning Dead Eyes podcast. Of earlier runs of The Acting Class, Vulture wrote that no one is more committed than Ratliff to selling the reality of a character, and Seth Meyers has also given the show a shout-out.

Tickets are $15. The promo code CRPTACoct takes $5 off. Anyone who can't make it to the East Village can watch the livestream instead.

For readers from Japan who follow American comedy and television, it is a chance to see a working TV actor turn the conventions of acting itself into improvised material, in a New York improv theater, on the eve of Halloween weekend.
