HONK NYC!, the festival devoted to street brass and percussion bands, held its 20th edition from October 15 to 18, 2026. Events spread across three boroughs, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, and took place in both indoor and outdoor settings.

The schedule was varied. It included an opening night at a brewery, a brunch built around brass band performances, and an open-streets afternoon in which bands played in the public way. Most of the events were free, which fits the festival's spirit: music meant to be encountered on the street, with no stage or ticket required.

HONK NYC! is an organization that champions bands that play in streets and public spaces. Its work extends beyond the festival itself to education programs, the HONK Family Band and the Ghost Band. The group's site highlights the Ghost Band's performances in bygone Lower East Side landmarks, a project that drew local press attention.

Details on each event are listed on the festival's events page at honknyc.com/events. For its 20th year, the festival filled four days with horns, drums and parades across the city.
