The Frick Collection on the Upper East Side opens its doors free of charge on the first Friday evening of most months for Louis Vuitton First Fridays. The program runs from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., after the museum's regular hours, and lets visitors explore the permanent galleries and special exhibitions at a slower pace.
Inside, guests can grab a drink or a bite to eat, listen to talks, and hear live music in the Garden Court. It is an easy way to combine looking at art with an evening out.
Louis Vuitton is the principal cultural sponsor of the series from June 2026 through May 2027. The nights take place on the first Friday of each month, except January and September. The sessions covered here are November 6 and the next one on December 4.
Admission is free. Timed tickets are encouraged, but walk-up visitors are welcome, and Frick members do not need tickets. Only children ages 10 and older are admitted, which matters for families planning a visit.
Accessibility is built into the program. All public areas are wheelchair accessible, and gallery talks offer free assistive listening devices. Live American Sign Language interpretation for talks is available on request with two weeks' notice; requests go to accessibility@frick.org.
The museum is at 1 East 70th Street, in the former Henry Clay Frick residence, and the quieter evening hours give the collection a different feel from a daytime visit.
