Sunset Park Open Studios, the annual event in which artists in Brooklyn's Sunset Park open their working spaces to the public, took place from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18, 2026. The organizers' own promotional graphic lists all three days: Fri Oct. 16, Sat Oct. 17 and Sun Oct. 18.

The open-studios format is simple. Rather than showing finished work in a gallery, artists welcome visitors into the rooms where the work is made. That gives visitors a look at the working environment and a chance to talk with the artist directly. The participating spaces were artists' studios scattered around Sunset Park.

This year's edition fell on the same weekend as Open House New York, the October event that opens buildings across the city to the public. For anyone out exploring that weekend, one program took people inside buildings and the other took them inside studios.

The event's website has pages for About, Press, Events and Support Us, along with a contact form and an Instagram account, @sunsetparkopenstudios. Sunset Park is a part of Brooklyn that many visitors from Japan may not yet have on their New York itineraries, but it has been gaining a reputation as a home base for working artists.

The weekend has now ended. The organizers post information about the event on their website and Instagram, and this year's three days are recorded here as part of the borough's autumn art calendar.
