La Ligne, the New York–based brand, and Banana Republic released a joint fall collection on September 9, 2026. It has 36 pieces, running from outerwear and tailoring to sweaters and skirts. Press coverage describes it as La Ligne's take on stripes, shirting and modern wardrobe staples, set against Banana Republic's design history.
La Ligne began with a love of stripes. Its cofounders are Molly Howard, Valerie Macaulay and Meredith Melling, and the collaboration lands as the brand marks its tenth anniversary. Melling told Marie Claire the aim was a real conversation between two design languages rather than one aesthetic layered over the other. She pointed to La Ligne's tailoring instincts, including the nipped waist and the belt and buckle details, set against Banana Republic's quality basics and archive-grade outerwear.
Stripes run through the range: button-downs, T-shirts and sweaters, plus headscarves and even scrunchies. Who What Wear highlights oversize long-sleeve T-shirts, colorful stripes and classic trench coats as the leading pieces. Howard, La Ligne's CEO, described the clothes as pieces that move with you through a five-things-before-lunch kind of day.
The campaign stars actress Zoey Deutch, photographed by Andrew Jacobs. It was shot in a softly lit New York apartment, with Deutch wearing knits, blazers and trousers from the collection.
One reported price: the Banana Republic x La Ligne Cotton Crew-Neck Sweater is $200. The collection is sold at select Banana Republic stores and on bananarepublic.com.
Banana Republic is also running a separate collaboration with knitwear designer ZANKOV, plus a cashmere sweater push. Those are different projects from the La Ligne line.
