Banana Republic x Zankov Capsule: NYC Knitwear Designer's 27-Piece Collection

Banana Republic has teamed up with Zankov, the New York-based knitwear label, on a 27-piece capsule that went on sale October 20. The brand pitches the pieces as "future heirlooms," blending its own heritage details with the knitwear designer's vibrant textures.

The core of the range is a set of sweaters in 100% cashmere with a brushed finish. Banana Republic's Instagram highlights unexpected color and a fresh take on stripes. The collection also draws on genuine leather and custom Italian wool. The official site shows a Fair Isle sweater, an argyle knit, a knee-length plaid coat, a large patterned scarf and a red-and-cream striped beanie. According to Marie Claire, the lineup also includes reversible hats, socks and scarves.

Designer Henry Zankov, who was born in Russia, began working on the project in January 2026, Marie Claire reports. By the time the collection was finished he had become artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg. He told the magazine that seeing Banana Republic's archive, with its well-made materials and finishings, was the starting point. The chocolate-brown suede-and-leather pencil skirt takes its paneling from a circa-1986 Banana Republic line, while the oversized oxblood leather bomber pairs a classic silhouette with a bolder tint. Zankov doesn't usually make leather, and he described the project as a chance to try other materials.

Prices run from about $90 to $600 as reported, with the Auden Cashmere Sweater at $300. The collection is unisex. It is sold online at bananarepublic.com and at select stores.
