Lacoste took its Fall/Winter 2026 collection to Guangfulin Park in Shanghai on October 22, staging a runway show titled "Washed Out Match, Reimagined." The collection debuted at Roland-Garros in Paris last March. The Shanghai show is the first complete runway presentation outside Paris since Pelagia Kolotouros became the House's Creative Director.
The story starts in 1923, when rain interrupted a tennis match played by René Lacoste. Attention shifted from the court to the stands, where spectators pulled on protective layers. The collection builds on that moment, looking at tennis culture beyond the court and at how people instinctively dress for the weather.
Familiar classics are reworked through Lacoste's technical know-how. Trench coats become poncho-polos, and bonded technical wool meets transparent nylon. Plush velvet and the René blazer add contrasts of texture and silhouette.
A collaboration with Scottish rainwear house Mackintosh is central. Mackintosh's waterproofing expertise meets Lacoste's sporting codes in rainproof tracksuits, pleated trench skirts and hybrid jacket-shirts.
The show also introduced a capsule of four co-created looks with global ambassador Wang Yibo, extending a relationship that began in 2024. A see-now, buy-now initiative let consumers shop selected pieces as they were unveiled, with a livestream alongside. Guests included ambassador Taylor Zakhar Perez, Nicole Scherzinger, Tony Leung Ka-Fai and Zhu Zhu.
