Lil Yachty's Yellow Nike Air Force 1 Mid: 1,000 Pairs, Sold in LA, Not NYC
Lil Yachty debuted a yellow-and-black Concrete Boys Nike Air Force 1 Mid at ComplexCon in Los Angeles. Only 1,000 pairs were made, sold at his Pawn Shop booth, so nobody in New York could buy it there. Here are the design details.
Rapper Lil Yachty used ComplexCon in Los Angeles to debut a new Nike collaboration: an Air Force 1 Mid in yellow and black, tied to his crew Concrete Boys. Rumors of an Air Force 1 Mid project had circulated for months before the event.
The design is easy to read. Both shoes have a croc-embossed upper, with black piping tracing the panels so the bright yellow stands against dark detail. On the heel, the usual Nike Air branding is replaced by the Concrete Boys logo, and the tongue label reads "Just Us."
The run was limited to 1,000 pairs, sold only at Yachty's Pawn Shop booth inside the convention. In an Instagram post, he described the booth as open for two days only at ComplexCon, with a buy, sale and trade theme, powered by Nike. Anyone who spent $200 would get a free pair of shoes from his collection while supplies lasted.
Sole Retriever reported that some customers waited upwards of five hours for a pair, and that the first day of the weekend event was chaotic. Hot New Hip Hop noted that a pink-and-black version exists in just two pairs, both owned by Yachty himself.
The event took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown LA, so this pair was not sold in New York. For Japanese readers, it is a case of a Nike artist collaboration released through a convention booth rather than a regular retail launch. Hot New Hip Hop calls the Air Force 1 Mid a new move for Yachty.
