MARK & LONA, the Japanese golf apparel label, has released a black colorway of its Tassel Striders, a golf shoe made with ASICS. The style number is MLS-26C-SS03, part of the brand's fall/winter 2026 line, and it is on sale now through the brand's global online store.
The design starts from the 1981 ASICS FABRE JAPAN S, reworked as a golf shoe. The upper is a black synthetic that looks like nubuck, and the ASICS stripes are cut in white patent. The contrast is simple: matte black with a glossy white line. The tassel that gives the shoe its name is its signature detail.
The shoe is unisex and comes in 14 sizes, from 23 to 29.5 cm in half-centimeter steps. Men and women choose from the same last. In Japan the suggested retail price is ¥47,300, or roughly $300. The US-facing global store lists it at $374 with tax included, and shipping is calculated at checkout. The store also advertises free shipping and customs on orders over ¥13,000.
For Japanese-speaking New Yorkers, the appeal is the direct route to a Japanese golf label without a trip home. ASICS is a Japanese sports brand, and this pair draws on its archive. Because it is all black, it works as easily off the course as on it.
To buy, open the product page, pick a size, accept the terms and add the shoe to the cart. With the golf season winding down in the Northeast, it is a reasonable time to plan for next spring, or simply to pick up a pair for everyday wear.
