Nepenthes New York will release the fall/winter 2026 collection of Engineered Garments Workaday on Saturday, October 31, in the store and online.

The season is built around deadstock denim. For the first time in Workaday, the line uses original-weight denims in 13oz, 14oz and 15oz, offered in indigo, black and khaki. The rest of the lineup includes a 12oz black bull denim, an 8-wale khaki corduroy and a military green herringbone twill.

Designer Daiki Suzuki starts from a childhood memory: the first pair of jeans he ever touched, with the stiff, raw feel of unsanforized denim, indigo that stained his hands and the smell of starch. Today's jeans, he notes, tend to be soft, stretchy and sold pre-faded and distressed, as if already worn for years. He set out to do the opposite and recreate the original spirit of jeans, which he describes as tough, uncompromising and raw.

These fabrics are paired with military and workwear designs that Workaday refined last season, and Suzuki frames the materials as the roots of the genre. He is candid about the trade-offs. The pieces may feel heavy and stiff, may be hard to wear and may transfer color. His request to buyers is to wrestle with them until they become an extension of themselves.

In New York, the collection is sold at Nepenthes New York on West 38th Street in Midtown, and through the store's online shop.
