New Balance Numeric, the skateboarding arm of New Balance, has released its 440v2 High in a new beige-and-black colorway called "Quicksand." It is sold on the online store of Premier, a skate and streetwear retailer, for $90.

The upper combines suede and mesh. In the product photos on Premier's page, the toe and side overlays are sand-colored suede, while the ankle collar is padded in a matching beige fabric. The "N" logo, the laces and the mesh at the heel are black, and the sole carries a thin gum-colored edge. The outsole is rubber, built as a cupsole, meaning the sole unit is stitched to the upper. The style number is UN440HAW, and sizing follows US men's, from 8 to 12 in half sizes.

The 440v2 family also includes a Low and a Trail version. Highsnobiety describes the range as looking like a New Balance "dad shoe" reworked for skating, and it presents the Quicksand as a good example of a simple colorway that needs no extra detail.

Premier stocks its own private label alongside brands including New Balance Numeric, Asics Skateboarding, Nanamica and Needles. The last two are Japanese labels, so the lineup will look familiar to readers in Japan. The shop's country selector includes Japan.
Orders over $100 ship free. Questions go to info@thepremierstore.com, to @premierskate on Instagram, or by phone at 616-742-2660.
Premier sells the shoe online only, so there is no New York storefront for this release. For anyone after a high-top skate shoe with a suede-and-mesh upper in a quiet sand-and-black palette as the weather cools, this is the colorway on offer.
