Nike Air Max Foamdome "Eggplant" Returns Nov. 5 for NYC Sneaker Fans
Nike's Air Max Foamdome comes back in the purple-and-black "Eggplant" colorway. The boot-style hybrid of Foamposite and Air Max Goadome is reported by multiple sneaker outlets to release on November 5, 2026, following an earlier Eggplant release in 2016.
Nike's Air Max Foamdome is coming back in its "Eggplant" colorway, with SneakerFiles and JustFreshKicks both reporting a November 5, 2026 release.
The Foamdome is a hybrid. It borrows the molded, shell-like look of the Air Foamposite and pairs it with the higher, boot-style build of the Air Max Goadome, a model from Nike's All Conditions Gear (ACG) lineage. The result is a heavier, winter-minded sneaker than a standard Air Max, and it carries an Air Max unit in the midsole.
"Eggplant" refers to the purple-and-black palette. The colorway first appeared on this model in 2016, when XXL described it as a winter-ready take inspired by the 1997 Foamposite and tied it to the Foamposite's coming 20th anniversary. According to SneakerFiles, the 2026 version stays close to that earlier look.
SneakerFiles describes the details this way: Electro Purple covers most of the molded upper, while black appears on the leather eyestays, toe, tongue, collar and laces. The Swoosh is purple, and the black midsole shows several purple-tinted Air units. The outlet also notes the higher cut gives extra coverage around the ankle and that the outsole has deep traction patterns suited to outdoor use.
For New Yorkers, the appeal is practical as well as visual: a boot-height, weather-minded shoe arriving just as the colder months set in. For Japanese readers who follow Nike's ACG and Foamposite-related releases, this is the first return of the Eggplant Foamdome in the years since 2016, as the reports describe it.
Nike's own men's new-releases page does not yet list the shoe, so the release timing here comes from the sneaker press reports above rather than from Nike directly.
(Details are drawn from points that agree across reports by SneakerFiles, JustFreshKicks, XXL.)
