Nike's Air Force 1 '01 "Nightmare" Drops for Halloween, Online for NYC Sneakerheads
Nike's Halloween-minded Air Force 1 '01 "Nightmare" pairs a slashed black leather upper with Gym Red underneath. It releases on Nike.com October 23 at 2:00 PM for $140.

Nike is marking Halloween with a new Air Force 1 '01 Low called "Nightmare," in Black and Gym Red (style IX0104-001). It goes on sale on Nike.com on October 23 at 2:00 PM for $140.
The look is built around a damaged-leather effect. Nail-shaped cuts split the black leather upper, and Gym Red details show through underneath like something out of a horror set. A black-on-black midsole and outsole finish the shoe. Nike's own launch page frames it with a "trick or treat" line.
The Air Force 1 first appeared in 1982 and was the first basketball sneaker to carry Nike Air. Over the decades its place as a street staple has overtaken its on-court history, and few shoes are as familiar on New York sidewalks. A black-and-red pair is an easy way to nod to the holiday without a full costume.
The release is listed on Nike.com. Nike operates stores in the city, but this drop is presented as an online launch. With the date landing on a Friday just before Halloween weekend, it suits anyone who wants a new pair in time for parties and parades.
