Nike Zoom Vomero Roam "Obsidian" Winterized Sneaker, Built for NYC Wet Weather
Nike has added an "Obsidian" colorway to its winterized Zoom Vomero Roam, on sale at Nike.com since October 16 for $190. The low-top pairs a rubber mudguard with a chunky Air Zoom midsole, and is designed for wet city streets.

Nike has added a new colorway, "Obsidian," to its winterized Zoom Vomero Roam. Nike's page lists the colors as Obsidian/Stealth/Midnight Navy/Stealth, a navy-and-grey two-tone low-top. The pair went on sale at Nike.com on October 16 and costs $190.
Nike describes this version of the Vomero as designed for city conditions and made for wet weather. Durable materials and a rubber mudguard work together to help keep dirt and puddle splash off the shoe. The upper layers textile and mesh, which Nike says gives a breathable, comfortable fit.
The practical details continue from there. The lace toggle is easy to adjust and has a hook that keeps it in place. The shoe also has pull tabs and reflective details.
Underfoot, a chunky foam midsole carries Nike Air Zoom units, which Nike says provide all-day cushioning. The rubber outsole uses HART, short for High Abrasion Rubber Tech. According to Nike, it uses less rubber compound than the company's other XDR rubber technologies without giving up durability or abrasion resistance, and that lighter use of material makes the outsole lighter and more flexible. Nike notes the shoe is not intended for use as Personal Protective Equipment.
New York winters mean plenty of wet pavement and slush, and this is a visibly cushioned, substantial sneaker made with that kind of weather in mind. The Nike page lists other colorways of the same shoe alongside Obsidian.
The Obsidian pair is sold online at Nike.com. Nike Members get free standard shipping on orders of $50 or more and free 60-day returns, with return policy exclusions applying. Pick-up is also available at select Nike Stores.
