Prounis, the New York jewellery house founded by Jean Prounis in 2017, has introduced Moderne, a collection inspired by the city's art deco era. The brand describes it as an early twentieth-century memory refracted through its material language of 22-karat gold.
The palette centers on 22-karat yellow gold, set against rock crystal, jade, onyx and prehnite. The diamonds are heirloom stones, cut in Asscher and carré shapes. Those crisp, geometric cuts suit the straight-lined elegance of deco design.
The range includes sautoir necklaces, which are worn long, along with brush pendants and a ring named Rosemary. Every piece is handcrafted in Manhattan's jewellery district.
Prounis was founded to carry on a family lineage of creating treasured memories. Beyond the collection, the house offers private appointments, custom design consultations and what it calls jewelry conversations, welcomed from near and far.
For a city whose skyline is still defined by deco towers, Moderne turns that architectural heritage into something wearable. It should appeal to collectors who look for pieces meant to be handed down.
