Nike is widening its Tech line, long associated with fleece, into a year-round range of apparel. The new collection launches November 5 at nike.com and select retail locations, and it is built fabric-first: each platform is meant to solve a specific need, from commuting and travel to everyday movement. The three platforms are SF3, Boreas and Tech Fleece.

The headline piece is the Nike Tech SF3 jacket, a fully waterproof Storm-FIT shell made with recycled materials. It costs $350. Nike says it locks out water without sacrificing airflow, which matters in a New York winter of wet commutes and slushy sidewalks.

Boreas takes a softer route. It is an oversized, high-pile fleece with water-repellent panels, priced at $195 and offered in Black, Velvet Brown and New Slate. The zip-up hooded version shown by Nike has textured panels on the sleeves and zippered side pockets.

Tech Fleece stays in the lineup, continuing its pitch of warmth without the weight.

The collection is aimed at all athletes across seasons and climates. With the November 5 launch, New Yorkers shopping for cold-weather layers will find a waterproof option and a plush fleece option in the same family, at $350 and $195 respectively.
