Dover Street Market New York released G-Shock x Jae Tips "What Time You On? 2.0" on October 30. The collaboration is available in the store and on the DSMNY e-shop.
As the name suggests, this is the second time designer Jae Tips and G-Shock have worked together. The design is built on a 90s retro palette. Its core elements are bold color, personal storytelling and the nostalgia of growing up in that decade.
Jae Tips is known for his passion for retro tech. His references come from an era when video game consoles, desktop computers and headphones had personality and were part of how people expressed themselves. He previously collaborated with Skullcandy on headphones, and his G-Shock collections carry the same spirit into everyday accessories through playful color combinations and a sense of discovery.
The idea is to take the excitement of childhood and translate it into pieces made for the present, linking music, fashion and technology. Each collaboration invites wearers to reconnect with their younger selves and carry some of that feeling forward.
G-Shock is a Japanese watch brand, so the release will interest Japanese-speaking New Yorkers and anyone who likes colorful 90s digital culture. The store is at 160 Lexington Avenue. Shoppers who can't visit in person can buy through the DSMNY e-shop.
