Nike is releasing a new colorway of the Air Max Ecstasy Plus on October 28: Metallic Silver and White. It will be sold through Nike retailers.

The shoe starts from late-'90s retro running. It was created during one of Nike's most experimental eras, and it carries two Air units under a low-profile upper. Branding is kept minimal, leaving clean, sleek lines and a sculpted midsole to do the talking. In this colorway, the metallic finish sits against a white base, giving the pair the forward-looking feel the period was known for. The style code is IV7022-001.

The Ecstasy Plus sits within a lineage that began in 1987, when the first Air Max made the Air unit visible. What started as an experiment in cushioning grew into an icon on the track and on the street. Nike says the line has been reimagined and re-tooled many times over the years, but the heritage stays intact.

For New Yorkers, metallic finishes and Y2K-era running silhouettes have long been part of everyday street style. Where chunkier shapes dominate, the Ecstasy Plus goes low and sharp, which should make it an easy pairing with wide-leg trousers or tailoring alike.

The release is tomorrow, October 28, at Nike retailers.
