NYC Sneakers: Nike Sprint Sister Returns in Burgundy and Red, $95
Nike's Sprint Sister, a street-ready update of its 1979 women's-only track spike, arrives in burgundy and bright red. The leather low-top costs $95 and is on sale now at Nike.com.

Nike has released a new colorway of the Sprint Sister, a sneaker built on the company's 1979 women's-only track spike. This one pairs a burgundy tone called Mystic Dates with a bright Tough Red and Sail, under style number IV5668-600. It is on sale now at Nike.com for $95.
The starting point is the light, low profile of a track spike, reworked for the street. Nike describes the result as comfortable and flexible in a polished package. The cut is low and non-restrictive, so the shoe wears easily day to day.
The upper is genuine leather, which Nike calls durable and breathable. The midsole is foam and the outsole is rubber. The deep red palette should sit well with fall and winter coats and denim.
The Sprint Sister is sold in many other colors, including black, sail, silver, linen and blue. The burgundy and red version suits anyone who wants one pair to add color to an outfit.
Orders go through Nike.com. Members get free standard shipping on orders of $50 or more and free 60-day returns. Pick-up is offered at select Nike stores, and Nike runs stores in New York City.
