Arc'teryx has released the Postour Boot (men's), a winter recovery boot built in two parts, available from October 23 on the brand's website.

The outer layer is an insulated, waterproof GORE-TEX overboot. Inside it sits a removable slipper insulated with Coreloft. The idea is flexible use: wear the slipper alone indoors, in a tent or in a parked car, then slide it into the overboot when you head back outside.

The outsole is Vibram Arctic Grip, a compound aimed at traction on wet, icy surfaces. That matters in a New York winter, when slush puddles and frozen sidewalks are routine, and a single pair that covers both warmth and waterproofing has obvious appeal.

The boot comes in two colorways, Black/Black and Tatsu/Black, and costs $300. Arc'teryx sells it through its website, which also advertises free shipping and returns. The brand operates stores in New York, but the website is the purchase route for this release.

It is built for the end of a ski day or a winter hike, but the same construction suits a post-gym or post-run change of footwear, or a warm layer for cold-weather errands. For anyone planning winter gear this season, it's a new option in Arc'teryx's insulated footwear lineup.
