New York label le PÈRE has announced its fall/winter 2026 collaboration with PUMA, and the first release is a reworked version of the Suede, PUMA's classic sneaker. According to le PÈRE, this pair is only the first installment of a collaboration that is meant to bring a season of drops.
The upper is suede, in a cream tone that reads creamier than the usual Suede. The silhouette has been slimmed down from the standard shape, and the toe gets a split-toe construction. Highsnobiety describes the overall result as a dapper, bowling-style sneaker. Inside, a green lining adds a single pop of color against the cream.
At the back, the contrasting heel panels are stamped with logos: PUMA on the right shoe and le PÈRE on the left. The design draws on vintage French bowling shoes and on le PÈRE's "Gentle Man" style, the phrase the brand uses for its Lower East Side take on dressing.
The sneaker is sold exclusively through le PÈRE, and it is available on the brand's website. Reported prices differ: Haberdasher lists it at $130, while Highsnobiety gives $120.
The Suede has been busy lately. Highsnobiety points to A$AP Rocky's nostalgic pairs and the Whitaker Group's faded Coda collaboration as other recent takes on the shoe, and notes that PUMA has also released a leather-only Suede Modern on its own. Against that backdrop, le PÈRE's version keeps things narrow: one material, a cream palette, one green accent inside.
For Japanese readers who know the Suede as a long-running staple, this is a version aimed at a more polished, downtown look rather than a retro-sportswear one. More drops from the collaboration are promised across the season.
