The Row Opens a Vintage Page in NYC With Orchard Street's Desert Vintage
The Row has added a vintage page to its online Galerie, made with Orchard Street's Desert Vintage. Ten pieces are listed, including a 2000 belted Yohji Yamamoto dress, two Fortuny gowns and a Madame Grès caftan. Every piece is priced upon request.

The Row has added a vintage section to its online Galerie. The new page, titled Galerie – Desert Vintage, is made in partnership with Desert Vintage, the Orchard Street shop on the Lower East Side, and shows garments from that store's archive. It went live on October 13, 2026. The Galerie menu now has two entries, Objects and Vintage, and this page is the second.

Ten pieces are listed. For readers who follow Japanese design, the one to look at first is the belted dress by Yohji Yamamoto from 2000. In the photograph it is a long black dress with a deep V neckline, a wide collar and a waist belt closed with a square silver buckle.

Two gowns by Mariano Fortuny are included. One is a silk gown with Murano glass beading from the 1900s. The other is a Delphos silk gown with Murano glass beading from 1930. The pleated dark silk in the photographs gives them a very different character from the Yamamoto dress. Madame Grès is represented by a 1930 silk chiffon caftan, and Zoran by a 1980 silk shell coat. The Zoran coat is a white piece with a high, folded collar and wide sleeves.

The rest of the selection comes from unnamed makers and leans toward the early twentieth century. An Egyptian Assuit hammered metal coat from 1920 carries gold and black stripes with a patterned hem. A handmade lace lamé tunic (1920) trails into a long, sheer train. The list continues with a flocked velvet shawl (1900), a quilted silk velvet coat (1900s) and an antique cotton caftan (1920).

Each entry carries the line "In partnership with Desert Vintage," and every piece is marked "Price upon request." The showing is online only, so all ten pieces can be viewed on The Row's site.
