Japanese label White Mountaineering is releasing its third collaboration with Alpha Industries, the military outerwear name, on October 31. The brand's official site posted the announcement on October 21.
The idea is the hybrid. Both pieces start from a classic military jacket and borrow details from another.
The first is a coat built on the N-3B, with details taken from the MA-1 and the CWU-45P. The second is a flight jacket built on the MA-1, with elements of the N-3B added. The N-3B is the cold-weather parka; the MA-1 and CWU-45P are flight jackets. Each piece folds the two lineages into one garment.
Both are cut in water-repellent shells lined with WINDSTOPPER, a windproof construction that suits the colder months ahead.
The collection goes on sale at White Mountaineering stores, on the brand's online store and at select stockists in Japan. The online store offers a country and region selector for international shoppers, which is useful for New Yorkers looking for Japanese military outerwear this winter.
