Ciao Evento, the event company that also goes by Evento, is hosting an Italian take on Friendsgiving on Thursday, November 19, from 7 to 10 PM at 75 Murray Street in Tribeca. The evening is built around cooking and eating together in the run-up to the holidays.

The first part is hands-on. Guests make a filled pasta with the Evento team, and the topic is squash ravioli. Whatever you make, you take home.

Dinner follows, with four courses designed and run by Chef and founder Andrea Belfiore. The listed menu starts with a crostone topped with caramelized onions and mixed mushrooms, and pappa al pomodoro, the Tuscan tomato and bread soup. Next come ravioli di zucca with butter and Parmigiano, and Cannelloni Marchigiani, a Marche-style baked pasta. The main is costoletta alla Milanese, a breaded veal cutlet, with roasted potatoes. A dish of roasted squash with taleggio sauce, hazelnuts and aged balsamic is also on the menu, and tiramisù closes the meal.

Drinks are partly covered. An open wine bar and assorted beer are included, while cocktails are sold à la carte. Music plays throughout the night.

The event runs three hours and is open to guests 21 and older. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite, and the listing states a no-refund policy.

For readers from Japan, the hook is the format. It is a pasta class and a seated Italian dinner in one evening, in a downtown Manhattan neighborhood close to the World Trade Center area.
