Mili has spent the past few years as a roving pop-up, appearing around New York and abroad. On November 4 it settles into a permanent home at 123 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side. Resy frames the move as a pop-up that has finally put down roots in the neighborhood.

The restaurant is led by Alexis White and chef Jorge Luis Pabón. White, a hospitality veteran from the South, has worked at Brass, The Tusk Bar and Altro Paradiso. Pabón's résumé includes Estela, The French Laundry and El Celler de Can Roca in Spain; The Infatuation describes him as a former executive chef of Estela and notes that, like many recent openings, Mili began as a pop-up.

WhatNow describes the concept as an intimate neighborhood restaurant inspired by the creative wine bars that have shaped New York dining. The cooking is seasonal and market-driven, and the menu was still taking shape ahead of opening. A sample menu reported by WhatNow lists cured scallops with melon and shiso, rice with crab and roasted peppers, duck with roasted eggplant and apple, and swordfish with spring onion sauce and sea lettuce. The Infatuation also mentions peaches with mortadella and monkfish with sea lettuce. Shiso on the scallop dish will be a familiar ingredient for Japanese readers.

Before opening, a spokesperson told WhatNow that Mili would serve dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 5 to 11 p.m., closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The restaurant is listed on Resy as Contemporary American, and reservations can be booked there.

Mili is at 123 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002.
