The Future Perfect, the design gallery, has opened a two-person show of Rafi Ajl and Natalia Triantafylli at its New York space. The gallery announced it on Instagram on October 26, and the work is on view now.
The show is organized around material. Glass, ceramic and 3D-printed pieces sit side by side, with each designer working in their own way and the objects set up to talk to one another. The gallery describes each designer as having a personality of their own, and says that together they make quite the company.
Placing glass and ceramic, both long-established craft materials, next to 3D printing, a digital fabrication method, lets the differences between the makers show up through the objects themselves. For anyone following product and collectible design, it is a chance to get to know two designers through works shown together rather than in isolation.
The installation images were captured by David Sierra.
