Dumboween, DUMBO's annual Halloween tradition, takes place on October 31. Because the date falls on a Saturday this year, the main parade starts earlier than usual, at 3 p.m.

The day opens with Nicktober Hallo-Scream, a Nickelodeon pop-up in the Dumbo Archway from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It offers photo ops with PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants and other characters, plus themed games, giveaways and candy.

At 2 p.m., the car-free stretch of Washington Street at Front Street hosts the Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest. Janae SaisQuoi is MC, and judges from H.E.A.L, Houndstown, K-9 Butcher and K9 Resorts give prizes for Most Original, Best Owner/Pet Duo, and Best in Show/Cutest/Coolest.

The March to the Arch starts at 3 p.m. Participants gather on Washington Street between Front and Water Streets, then walk through Brooklyn Bridge Park to the Dumbo Archway behind a brass band and puppets. The Archway Party runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m. with crafts from Creatively Wild Art Studio, a free photo booth, live music and candy. Drinks are sold at the Archway Bar.

Trick-or-treating runs from 3 to 7 p.m. at more than 60 small businesses across the neighborhood, while supplies last. Participating shops display a pumpkin sign in the window, and a trick-or-treat map is available on the Dumbo site.

There are also two additions around the day. A new Dumbo Costume Contest invites people to photograph their costumed group in the neighborhood between October 24 and 31, post it to the Instagram main grid with a tag of @dumbo_brooklyn and #dumboween2026, and the organizers will pick the best three for prizes. On the Manhattan Bridge, on both the Plaza and Adams Street sides, work by Motomichi is projected from dusk to 11 p.m. through Halloween. Photo setups are also placed on Washington Street and in the Archway.
