The Noguchi Museum Shop in Long Island City, Queens, will hold its annual Akari Holiday Sale from Nov. 18 to 24. Select Akari light sculptures will be 10% off, both in the shop and online.

Museum members get an extra 10% off on top of the sale price. Discount codes will be posted on the shop's website starting Nov. 18, the first day of the sale.

Akari are the washi-paper light sculptures designed by Isamu Noguchi. He described their glow as like sunlight filtered through shoji paper, turning the harshness of electric light into something that carries the sun's warmth into a room at night. Ozeki & Co. in Japan has made them since 1951, and this year the museum is marking the line's 75th anniversary with exhibitions.

The shop carries Akari table, ceiling and floor lamps, along with Noguchi furniture and publications. It also sells a series of fifteen Akari prints made by Ozeki, screenprinted in Japan on mulberry bark washi paper.

The shop is at 9-01 33rd Road, at Vernon Boulevard, and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, with last entry at 5:30 pm. Online orders of Akari ship within the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Buyers in Japan are directed to Ozeki Co., Ltd.
