Sure Thing Chapel, the vintage-styled wedding chapel best known for its spot on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, now has a New York outpost at 122 Allen Street on the Lower East Side. It offers a Vegas-style, non-religious ceremony without leaving Manhattan.
The chapel is small, about 400 square feet, and decorated in pink. A neon Wurlitzer organ is the centerpiece. The scale suits an elopement or an intimate ceremony with a handful of guests.
Packages start at $666 and include a 30-minute ceremony. The top package, at $1,444, adds drag clown Tillie the Clown as officiant. The chapel welcomes LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous ceremonies, and it also performs vow renewals.
Next door is the Autophoto Photobooth Museum, which makes for an easy stop before or after a ceremony. The Las Vegas chapel is known for its analog photobooth, so photo strips are part of the brand's wedding-day tradition.
Couples need to get their marriage license separately. Packages can be booked through the chapel's website. For New Yorkers planning something unconventional, or friends looking for a different kind of celebration, it is a new address worth knowing.
