APPARATUS, the New York design studio, has introduced JAHAAN, a series of Persian-inspired objects and incense. In its announcement, the studio describes the series as a place "where we gather to share the seed, the flower, our knowledge." The title is paired with its Persian-script rendering, جهان, putting the cultural roots of the project front and center.

The series is now on view in both New York and London. In London it is presented as an exhibition, and the same body of work can be seen in New York as well. The incense made for New York is also available through the brand's online shop, so those who can't visit in person can still take part.

APPARATUS is known for lighting, furniture and objects with a sculptural, craft-driven sensibility. Adding incense to the mix brings scent into the picture, extending the studio's interest in atmosphere from the visual to the olfactory.

For anyone following contemporary design and interiors, JAHAAN offers a modern take on Persian aesthetics, delivered through pieces meant to live in the home. Further details on the series are on the APPARATUS website.
