NYC Design: Boldizar Senteski's Corroded Steel Mirrors at StudioTwentySeven in Tribeca
Hungarian designer Boldizar Senteski's Erosion collection turns oxidation and corrosion into signed, one-of-a-kind mirrors framed in polished stainless steel. In New York, they are available exclusively through StudioTwentySeven; pricing is on request.

StudioTwentySeven is showing Erosion, a new collection of handmade, signed mirrors by Hungarian designer Boldizar Senteski. The works come as a triptych and are available exclusively through the gallery.
Senteski doesn't paint. He works with oxidation, corrosion and the chemistry of metals and glass, distressing and oxidising reflective surfaces layer by layer. Rather than dictating every result, he sets up the conditions and lets the material shape itself, so each reaction leaves a lasting mark and no two pieces match.
The Erosion Mirror 03 listed on the gallery's site dates from 2026. It is silver on glass with an acrylic and polished stainless steel frame, offered at roughly 47.6 by 47.6 centimeters or 121 by 121 centimeters, with custom sizes and finishes on request. Each piece is a unique work, handcrafted in Hungary, and comes with a signature, serial number and certificate of authenticity.
The mirrors draw on the cityscape of Budapest, where post-Soviet Brutalism sits beside Baroque and Art Nouveau grandeur. Raw industrial detail meets traces of opulence, and the surface keeps the marks of time rather than hiding them.
Senteski was born in Budapest in 1992 and studied product design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. He worked in fashion and art direction, later honed his craft with Sebastian ErraZuriz, and now works between Paris and Budapest.
Pricing is available on request. The New York gallery is at 241 Church Street and sees visitors by appointment only; inquiries can be sent by email or phone.
