RECESS!! The Experience has taken over Level 2 of Empire Outlets in St. George, Staten Island. Its organizers call it NYC's first indoor blacklight snowball fight, and it is built for all ages. The limited run goes from October 18 through November 30, 2026, and it is open on weekends only.

The snowball fight comes first. Players throw glowing snowballs at their family and friends in a dark, music-filled room. After that comes Orbtopia, a neon play world with more than 20 hands-on zones. There are air-powered ball cannons, neon spheres and sticky orbs, and Gopher Pong, where you shoot ping-pong balls at your crew. You can also team up on wall-sized video games, make a wish at the Wishing Wall, and rest inside the Glow Dome. Most visits take 45 to 90 minutes, and most families stay about an hour. A standard ticket includes roughly 60 minutes of access, with sessions starting at 11:15 am and running every 30 minutes.

Adult tickets (age 3 and up) are $24.50 plus a $2.94 booking fee. Groups of four or more pay $23.50 plus $2.82 each. Seniors 65 and over, students 13 to 26, guests with disabilities and military pay $21.50 plus a $2.58 fee, and must show photo ID at the door. Children 2 and under are free. The listing puts a family of four at $82 and up, plus fees. Anyone under 13 needs to be accompanied by someone 16 or older. The venue is ADA accessible, and sensory accommodations are available on request.

The trip is part of the outing. The free Staten Island Ferry leaves Lower Manhattan, passes the Statue of Liberty and passes the skyline. The venue is about a four-minute walk from the St. George terminal, right beside the NYC Ferry landing. Empire Outlets has shops and waterfront dining, and the FerryHawks ballpark is up the block. The Staten Island 9/11 Memorial, Snug Harbor and the National Lighthouse Museum are also close by. Birthday parties and group outings can be booked at info@recessxp.com.
