Winter Pool House at The Rockaway Hotel & Spa: Heated Pool and Cedar Saunas in Queens, NYC

The Rockaway Hotel & Spa, a short walk from the beach in Queens, has reopened its seasonal Winter Pool House. The summer pool patio is set up for cold-weather use, and reservations opened on November 2. It isn't just for hotel guests: anyone can buy a day pass through ResortPass.

The two main draws are the year-round outdoor heated pool and access to a cedar sauna. ResortPass lists the sauna as part of the day pass. The Winter Pool House Day Pass starts at $50, and the All Day Pass, which covers the full day at the pool and sauna, starts at $65. There is also a Group Pass that reserves a designated space for up to four adults. It is listed at $255, which is 15 percent off the $300 price.

The Pool House is open daily from 11:00am to 6:00pm. The hotel describes it as the place for bites and craft cocktails, so you can stay in the lounge rather than only swim. ResortPass photos show a calm lounge with cream cushions, pampas grass and a corrugated wall.

You can also pair the pool with spa treatments. A 25-minute Therabody recovery session with spa access starts at $50. A 50-minute Awakening Face & Scalp Treatment with pool access starts at $130. A 50-minute Signature Body Polish with pool access starts at $150. The 80-minute Rock & Glow treatment, which combines a Ginger-Lime Sugar scrub with a facial, starts at $200. The 80-minute CBD Herbal Bliss Treatment starts at $250.

The hotel is at 108 Rockaway Beach Dr in Queens, and it calls itself a ferry ride from Manhattan. At arrival you check in at the front desk with your confirmation and a photo ID. Most bookings can be cancelled for a full refund.
