The TCS New York City Marathon is set for Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, sending runners over a 26.2-mile course that links all five boroughs. According to the organizer's official Instagram account, nearly 60,000 runners will take part, with more than 2 million spectators lining the streets.

This year's Grand Marshal is Tracy Morgan, the New York comedian and actor. In the race's announcement, he is billed as the person who will lead the crowds in cheering the runners to the finish line, on what organizers call the best day of the year in the best city in the world.

Race week has brought several related events. On the morning of Oct. 31, more than 400 public school students from across the five boroughs, all part of New York Road Runners' Rising New York Road Runners program, received new pairs of New Balance shoes. NYRR says nearly 70,000 pairs have gone to children in New York and around the country since the partnership with New Balance began.

The runners' expo is presented by New Balance. At the Citizens booth, the race's official bank, marathoners can enter for a chance at a complimentary ride to select Manhattan locations in a Citizens-branded vehicle.

On the elite side, American-record holder Conner Mantz returns to the race. On the official "Set the Pace" podcast, he talks about setting American records, bouncing back from injury and preparing for New York.

For Japanese readers, this is one of the world's major marathons, and it turns the whole city into a single course. Race-day details such as start times and the course map are published by NYRR on its official site and app.
