Magenta Plains, the gallery at 149 Canal Street in Lower Manhattan, marked its tenth year with "10 Year Anniversary," a group exhibition that ran from September 9 to October 31, 2026.
The roster reflects the artists who have shaped the gallery over the decade: Alex Kwartler, Anne Libby, Bill Saylor, Chason Matthams, Don Dudley, Ebecho Muslimova, Jane Swavely, Jennifer Bolande, Jibade-Khalil Huffman, Ken Lum, Liza Lacroix, Matt Keegan, Peter Nagy, Rachel Rossin, Sascha Braunig, Tiril Hasselknippe and Zach Bruder. The estates of Barbara Ess and Paul Gardère and the Stan VanDerBeek Archive are also included. Twenty participants in all, spanning generations and approaches, make the show a look back across the gallery's program.
The gallery is open from 11 AM to 6 PM, and its Canal Street location makes it an easy stop on a walk through Chinatown and the Lower East Side.
The anniversary show closed on October 31. Next at Magenta Plains, two solo exhibitions open on November 12 and run through December 19: William Wegman's "Please Stand By" and Roberto Juarez's "Look Again."
