The festival opened with the U.S. premiere of Nicky Murphy's vampire mockumentary I Love Paris. Its heroine is an aspiring underground singer who is bitten and decides her music career will go on regardless, only bloodier. Dark Sky Films presented an opening-night party across both levels of the theater. The centerpiece was Marion Le Corroller's French body-horror film Species (Sanguine), a New York premiere set in an ER. The closing-night film is Nick Kozakis's Australian siege picture Kick On, and a Halloween party presented by ALTER follows it.

The program mixes new work with history. The Only One, an early-2000s-style slasher, had its world premiere. Two documentaries profile genre figures: Rubberhead: The Life & Monsters of Steve Johnson, about the special-effects artist, and Full Moon Rising: The Charles Band Story, about the Full Moon Features founder. Ghost in the Machine and J.D.'s Revenge, which marks its 50th anniversary, screen on 35mm. A 35mm print of Trick 'r Treat plays with a Q&A with director Michael Dougherty. Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs gets a 35th-anniversary screening, and Jane Schoenbrun's debut feature We're All Going to the World's Fair is also on the schedule.

The festival gives its annual Leviathan Award to the Adams Family, who are presenting their new film The Glorious Dead. Live podcast recordings and trivia contests round out the schedule. Festival badges and individual tickets are sold through Eventive.
