Xylor Jane: Paintings for People at CANADA
Xylor Jane's Paintings for People opens at CANADA, the artist-run gallery on Lispenard Street in Tribeca, on November 4 and runs through December 19, 2026. Works on panel in oil, ink and graphite are on view.

CANADA, the gallery at 60 Lispenard Street in Tribeca, presents Paintings for People, a solo exhibition by Xylor Jane, from November 4 through December 19, 2026. Jane is a painter represented on the gallery's artist roster, and this show takes place at the Lispenard Street location.
One work from the exhibition is Cravat (2026), a panel measuring 21 by 23 inches (53.34 by 58.42 cm). Its listed materials are oil, ink and graphite. Combining three media in a single piece invites close looking, since the weight of the paint, the line of the ink and the mark of the graphite each register differently on the surface. At this modest scale, the work rewards viewing from nearby.
The title, Paintings for People, is plain and direct. It frames the exhibition around the experience of standing in front of the paintings themselves, and it suggests an address to a general viewer rather than a specialized one.
CANADA was founded in 1999 as an artist-run space and has remained part of the New York gallery scene since. Its Tribeca location is within walking distance of Chinatown and SoHo, so a visit fits easily into a day of gallery-going downtown.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. The six-week run overlaps with the Thanksgiving period and the lead-up to the year-end holidays. Inquiries about the works can be made through the gallery's website or by phone at +1 212 925 4631.
