Peoples' Symphony Concerts (PSC) opens its Arens Series night with the Dover Quartet on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 PM. The concert takes place at Washington Irving Campus, 40 Irving Place, between 16th and 17th Streets in Gramercy.

The quartet is Joel Link and Bryan Lee on violin, Julianne Lee on viola and Camden Shaw on cello. BBC Music Magazine named the group one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years, and it has two GRAMMY nominations. It is the ensemble in residence at the Curtis Institute of Music and swept every prize at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition. PSC's page quotes The New Yorker calling the Dover "the young American string quartet of the moment."

The program has three works. The first half pairs Brahms's Quartet No. 3 in B-flat major, Op. 67, with Pura Fé's Rattle Songs, in an orchestration by the Chickasaw composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate. After intermission comes Dvořák's Quartet No. 11 in C major, Op. 61, B. 121. The evening runs about two hours, including a 20-minute intermission.

Tickets are $25 for reserved balcony seats, $20 for general admission and $10 for students and essential workers. Arens Series subscribers pay as little as $9.33 for this concert. A virtual version of the concert streams from Monday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 7.

PSC has been presenting chamber music in New York for 125 years, and its 2026-27 season also includes the Juilliard Quartet in January and Brooklyn Rider in May. The box office can be reached at (212) 586-4680, Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 4 PM, or at info@pscny.org.
