The Frick Collection on the Upper East Side opens its doors free of charge on the first Friday evening of most months under the banner Louis Vuitton First Fridays. The next one is Friday, Dec. 4, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Visitors can walk through the galleries and the special exhibitions after regular hours. The evening also includes talks and live music in the Garden Court, and there are drinks and bites available, so it works as a full night out as well as a museum visit.
Free timed tickets are encouraged, though walk-up visitors are welcome. Frick members do not need tickets. Only children ages 10 and older are admitted.
The series runs monthly except in January and September. Louis Vuitton is the principal cultural sponsor from June 2026 through May 2027.
Accessibility is built in: all public areas are wheelchair accessible, and every gallery talk offers free assistive listening devices. Live American Sign Language interpretation for talks is available on request, with two weeks' notice requested.
The museum is at 1 East 70th Street. The early-evening start makes it an easy stop after work for a winter night with the collection.
